Frequently Asked Questions
How do I track my drinks?
Tap "Start Drink Mode" on the home screen. Once active, log each drink by selecting the drink type and size. The app keeps a running tally and shows a real-time BAC estimate. Tap the stop button when you're done to end the session and see your summary. You can also set a planned stop time before you start.
What is the Walk Test?
Walk Test uses your phone's motion sensors to analyse your gait and give you an impairment estimate. Open it from the home screen during an active Drink Mode session. All processing happens entirely on your device β no sensor data is ever sent to our servers. Walk Test results are estimates only and should never be used to decide whether you are safe to drive.
How do I track valuable items?
During an active Drink Mode session you'll find a "Valuables" section on the home screen. Add items like your keys, wallet, or phone so you have a checklist to run through before leaving a venue. The list is local to your device and cleared when you end the session.
How do I add trusted contacts?
Go to Settings and tap "Trusted Contacts," then tap "Add Contact." Enter their name and phone number. These are the people who will be notified via SMS with your location if you trigger an SOS alert. You can add up to 5 trusted contacts.
How do SOS alerts work?
Open the SOS screen from the app. A short countdown gives you a chance to cancel before the alert fires. When triggered, an SMS is sent to all your trusted contacts containing your name, a distress message, and a Google Maps link to your current location. This works even if you're in a group session.
How do group sessions work?
Create a group from the Groups tab and share the invite code with your friends. Once everyone joins, you can see each other's status, real-time location, and intoxication level. Group members can also trigger a ride request to help an impaired member get home safely. All group data is cleared when the session ends.
How does Group Messaging work?
During an active group session, tap the Messages icon to open the group chat. You can send text messages to everyone in your crew in real time. Messages are visible only to group members and are cleared from our servers when the session ends.
What is Night Radar?
Night Radar is an opt-in feature that lets you and your friends discover each other nearby when you're all out at the same time. Activate it from the Social tab. Only friends who are also active on Night Radar can see that you're nearby β no strangers can see you. You can turn it off at any time and proximity data is not stored permanently.
How does Bar Hopping work?
Open Bar Hopping from the Social or home screen to discover nearby bars using your location. Browse results, add bars to a custom itinerary, and share the plan with your group. Itineraries are linked to your group session so everyone can follow along for the night.
What drinking games does the app have?
NiteCrew includes four in-app social drinking games for you and your crew: Nine Lives (a multiplayer card-style game), The Drop (a fast-paced group challenge), Number Bomb (a number-guessing game), and Dice Roll (social dice rolling). You can also use the Cocktail Builder (Blind Box Draw) to randomly generate cocktail recipes for the group. All games are accessible from the Drinking Games screen.
What are Achievements?
Achievements reward you with XP, badges, and titles for safe-drinking milestones and social activity β things like completing a session within your limit, helping a friend get home safely, or using the Walk Test. Your progress is shown on your profile and may be visible to your friends.
How do I add friends?
Go to the Friends tab and tap the add button. You can search for a friend by their username handle or scan their QR code. Once they accept your request, you'll appear on each other's Night Radar when both of you are active, and you can see each other's Achievements.
How do I delete my account and data?
To delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings and use the "Delete Account" option, or email us at
daniel@gravity666666.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." Include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days and permanently remove all server-side data. Local data on your device can be removed by uninstalling the app.
Is my data safe?
Yes. We use HTTPS encryption for all server communication, passwords are stored using one-way hashing, and we never sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. Walk Test sensor data is processed entirely on-device and never leaves your phone. Read our full
Privacy Policy for details.
